History of Europe
This site of the Library of the University of Washington is a great starting point for any research on European history.


History of the Cold War
The Cold War International History Project of the Woodrow Wilson international center for scholars is a leading prject on new insights on the Cold War. It seeks to accelerate the process of integrating new sources, materials and perspectives from the former "Communist bloc" with the historiography of the Cold War which has been written over the past few decades largely by Western scholars reliant on Western archival sources

This is the official site of the European Union. You will find a sea of information related to its institutions, its activities, its services as well as all important documents underpinning the European Union.


European Central Bank
This is the official site of the ECB, the central bank for Europe's single currency, the euro. The ECB’s main task is to maintain the euro's purchasing power and thus price stability in the euro area. The euro area comprises the 13 European Union countries that have introduced the euro since 1999. The site provides information on the European monetary system, its policies as well as relevant statistics.


EU Institutional reform
This website offers summaries of the process of institutional reform which began with the Intergovernmental Conference (IGC) in 2000 and which has resulted in the adoption of a European Constitution (which has not been ratified). The site offers a comprehensive guide to theTreaty of Nice, the European Convention, the Intergovernmental Conference (IGC) 2003/2004 and the European Constitution.

The Lisbon Agenda

RESEARCH CENTERS

Migration Policy Institute
The Migration Policy Institute (MPI) is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit think tank in Washington, DC dedicated to the study of the movement of people worldwide. At the request of several recent EU Presidencies, the European Commission, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the European Parliament, MPI has helped to develop and advance many of the policies that comprise the EU’s emerging legislative framework for migration and integration.


Centre for Strategic and International studies
The Centre for Strategic and International studies has a special "Iraq briefing book" that includes analyses of the developments in Iraq as well as discussions of post-September 11 international relations. The "Europe Program" category focuses on transatlantic relations.


Council of Foreign Relations
The council on Foreign Relations website provides research papers and commentaries on international developments and US foreign policy.


French Institute of International Relations
The French Institute of International Relations website provides research papers about the EU, Russia and the post-Soviet world, as well as transatlantic relations. Most publications are in French.


German Society for Foreign Affairs
German Society for Foreign Affairs publishes materials on transatlantic relations as well as European foreign policy.


Konrad Adenauer Foundation
The Konrad Adenauer Foundation website publishes research papers and commentaries on (besides other things) international politics. Most publications are in German, but some are also in English and Spanish.


Institute for the study of Europe
This Institute of Colombia University forms a consortium with the Center for European Studies at NYU and the New School University. The center houses a Western European Center and, in cooperation with the Harriman Institute, an East Central European Center.
