Fourth Pan-European Conference on EU Politics

Organized by the ECPR Standing Group on the European Union




The conference program is divided into eight sections under the chairmanship of Professor Fabio Franchino of the University of Milan. The sections and section chairs are as follows:

  • Theories of European Integration chaired by Professor Markus Jachtenfuchs at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin. This section covers the study of European integration with particular emphasis on theory development.

  • EU Institutions and Politics chaired by Professor Brigid Laffan at University College Dublin. This section covers the study of European institutions and political processes from elections to policy implementation.

  • Political Economy of the European Union chaired by Professor Nicholas Jabko at Sciences-Po in Paris. This section covers the study of the European Union with particular emphasis on the interactions between politics and economics.

  • EU Law and Policies chaired by Professor Damian Chalmers at the London School of Economics and Political Science. This section covers the study of the European Union with particular emphasis on the interactions between politics, policy, and law.

  • Gender, Diversity, and European Integration chaired by Professor Alison Woodward at the Free University of Brussels. This section covers the study of European integration with a particular emphasis on issues of gender, identity and diversity.

  • The Politics and Economics of EU Enlargement chaired by Professor Meltem Muftuler-Bac at the Sabanci University in Istanbul. This section covers all aspects related to the politics and economics of EU enlargement.

  • Foreign Policy and External Relations chaired by Dr Michael E. Smith at St Andrews University in Scotland. This section covers all aspects related to external economic and political relations.

  • Migration and European Integration chaired by Dr Eiko Thielemann at the London School of Economics and Political Science. This section covers all aspects related to migration, internal security and citizens' freedom.

This will register you as an individual member of the Standing Group and bring you into our (moderated) mailing list. You do not have to make a proposal to the conference in order to join the list.
