    Latest addition: The ECPR is organizing a 4th general conference to be held in Pisa, 6-8 September 2007. The Standing Group on the European Union is therefore issuing a call for papers to support a section on the "Politics of the European Union". The deadline for submission of completed proposals to the section organizers is 1 February 2007

    The Istanbul conference is over but you can still read our keynote address by His Excellency Volkan Vural, Ambassador of Turkey to Spain.

    The ECPR Standing Group on the European Union is organizing its Third Pan-European Conference. It will be hosted by Bilgi University in Istanbul, Turkey from 21 to 23 September 2006. The Standing Group's Pan-European Conferences are the largest academic conferences on the European Union in Europe and bring together scholars from all over the world.

    The Conference has seven general sections covering major fields of current research on the EU as well as an open section for cross-cutting and interdisciplinary themes.

    • EU Institutions and Politics
    • Political Economy of the European Union
    • EU Law and Policies
    • Equality, Diversity, and European Integration
    • EU Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy
    • Foreign Policy and External Relations
    • Migration and European Integration
    • Open Section
    Conference fees will be €100 for professionals and €65 for students. Local participants will be charged 70 YTL. All conference fees will be payable at the time of registration--which will start soon after the preliminary program is announced in early May.
