Rivista - Summer / Fall 2011
Editor's Note
Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies Bologna Center

This special issue of Rivista gathers together various views of our community of scholars who share their perspectives on Italy's 150th anniversary of unity and where this breathtakingly beautiful and memorabile country stands today.

Uncertainty (which always carries with it possibility), newness, transition, tradition, and legacies all come to light—themes that are extremely relevant to our world today.

Also noteworthy is the slightly more robust format of Rivista—an experiment. We look forward to reporting on the many new developments going on at the Center in the next issue in 2012.

Odette Boya Resta (BC99/DC00, U.S./Italy) is Communications Officer at the SAIS Bologna Center and Editor of Rivista.

View our latest video short featuring Mac Broderick's (BC11, U.S.) thoughts on the Bologna Center experience as he bicycles through the hills surrounding the city. One Day at Hopkins SAIS Bologna, Episode Two: Spring is directed by Dario Zanasi and can be viewed here or on the Hopkins YouTube page.

Stay tuned for Episode Three: Summer and Episode Four: Fall in 2012!
