Bologna Center students have access to the rich bibliographic resources of the Bologna area libraries and their combined holdings of more than 3 million volumes. Bologna Center students can also arrange to order or borrow materials that are not available locally. Students should speak to the public services librarian to request assistance with materials from other libraries.

The library also participates in the worldwide cooperative interlibrary loan system as a lender; this service is available only to libraries, not directly to individual users. Libraries interested in borrowing from our collection should first check the online catalog to determine our holdings. Only books from the general collection that are not checked out are available for lending. Some materials (reference items, periodicals etc) are excluded from lending. The request should state the call number of the book, as it appears in the catalog.

Books are normally loaned for four weeks and may be renewed upon request. The library requests payment in IFLA vouchers or in Italian "posta prioritaria" stamps.

Fees are as follows:

Books:
International loans: 3 IFLA vouchers
Libraries in Italy: 4 "posta prioritaria" stamps per book plus 1 per order for mailing

Photocopies:
International loans: ½ IFLA voucher per 50 pages including mailing
Libraries in Italy: 1 "posta prioritaria" stamp per 10 pages plus 1 per order for mailing

La biblioteca del Bologna Center aderisce alla rete internazionale di prestito interbibliotecario; il servizio e' effettuato unicamente verso altre biblioteche, non verso singoli utenti.

Per eventuali richieste si prega di consultare il catalogo: soltanto i titoli della "General Collection" che non siano attualmente in prestito (Checked Out) sono disponibili per il prestito interbibliotecario; alcuni titoli (periodici, libri di consultazione) sono comunque esclusi dal servizio. Nella richiesta si prega di specificare la collocazione del volume (Call Number) cosi' come appare nel catalogo. La durata del prestito e' di quattro settimane, ed e' rinnovabile su richiesta.
