U.S. citizens going to the Bologna Center are strongly advised to take advantage of the visa service offered through SAIS in Washington. The Admissions Office in Washington collects visa applications (usually up to the end of May) and submits them to the Italian Embassy. Please read carefully the information provided with your letter of admission, and check the visa information on the SAIS DC Website

If you are unable to take advantage of this service you should request a letter of support from SAIS by completing the web-based form on the SAIS website for matriculating students, and follow guidelines in the Information for Incoming Students booklet.

Non-U.S. citizens currently residing in the U.S. are also eligible to forward their visa applications to the Admissions Office at SAIS in Washington before May 31 (see instructions above).
