Arriving by plane
- Taxis from the Bologna airport (BLQ) to the Bologna Center or to hotels in the city center typically cost from €20 to €30. The amount indicated on the taxi meter does not reflect the final cost, as taxes and additional charges for luggage, night travel, Sundays and holidays are not shown. The Aerobus takes visitors to the train station and the center of town (see instructions below for travel from the train station to the Bologna center). The €5 ticket can be bought on the bus, which leaves the airport every 20 minutes.
Arriving by train
- The train station in Bologna is aproximately 10 minutes from the Bologna Center. A taxi stand is outside the train station entrance. The ride is about €6-8. Bus tickets (biglietto per l'autobus) can be bought for €1 at the ATC office on the right side of the station, alongside the taxi stand or at the tabacchi (tobacco shop) inside the train station. Bus number 32, which stops on the side of the street across from the train station (under the Hotel Mercure), is a 10 to 15 minute ride to the Bologna Center. Validate the bus ticket once aboard the bus by stamping it in one of the yellow machines on the bus. Get off at the Porta San Vitale (30 meters from the school).
Arriving by car
- Bologna is linked directly to three main motorways or autostrade: A1 (Milan-Naples), A13 (Venice-Bologna), and A14 (Bologna-Taranto). All of these autostrade lead to the city bypass or tangenziale from which drivers should follow signs indicating centro or city center. See the map below for street layouts.
