MAIA-Laurea Magistrale Program with:

This two-year program can be undertaken by spending the first year at the Bologna Center and the second year at the University of Bologna, Faculty of Political Science, or vice versa. Students must apply separately and be admitted by both institutions. Those who begin at the University of Bologna must complete at least 56 credits (CFU) during the first year. Upon completion of six additional courses, the MAIA thesis and language requirement, they will be eligible to receive the Johns Hopkins SAIS MAIA degree. Students coming from the University of Bologna's Faculty of Political Science who suspend their studies in order to pursue the SAIS MAIA degree, may also apply the credit for the courses taken at the SAIS Bologna Center towards the Laurea Magistrale in Scienze Internazionali e Diplomatiche.

MAIA and MAIS Program: Bologna Center and the Diplomatische Akademie Wien

This program is open to students at the Bologna Center and the Diplomatische Akademie (DA) in Vienna. First-year students at the Bologna Center may spend a second year at the DA. Upon successful completion of an interdisciplinary thesis and any other MAIS requirements, they will be awarded the MAIS by the Diplomatische Akademie. Likewise, students enrolled at the DA may, after successful completion of one year of study, spend a second year at the Bologna Center. Upon successful completion of six additional courses, the MAIA thesis and language requirement, they will be awarded the MAIA by the SAIS Bologna Center.
