One-Year Diploma in International Studies

All students enrolling at the Bologna Center, after satisfactorily completing two semesters as full-time residents, will receive the one-year diploma. Students must spend two semesters at the Center as full-time residents. For those who continue their studies, this year counts as the first year of the M.A. In order to receive the diploma, all candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

Courses: Candidates for the diploma must complete successfully eight non-language courses taken for credit, normally within two consecutive semesters of study.

Language Proficiency: Non-native English-speaking candidates must either pass an English proficiency examination by the end of the year or must successfully complete two semester courses in advanced English. All native English-speaking candidates must either pass a foreign-language proficiency examination or must successfully complete two regular semester courses in one of the languages offered at the Center (see language program information).
